The final boss of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is the colossal Death Egg Robot, piloted by Dr. Robotnik himself. This fight also takes place in a ringless arena. The Death Egg Robot has two main attacks: it will jump and try to crush you, and it will extend its arm to punch you. Your only vulnerability window is when its arm is fully extended and its chest opens slightly. You must jump and hit its chest. After taking damage, it will often jump higher and try to crush you more aggressively. This fight is a test of endurance and precise dodging. If you have Super Sonic, you can fly into its chest repeatedly to defeat it quickly, making the fight much easier.
