Act 1 of Hill Top Zone introduces lava as a primary hazard. Falling into lava results in an instant loss of a life, regardless of your ring count. You'll encounter sections with moving platforms that sink into the lava, requiring quick jumps. There are also underground caverns that are often dark, making it harder to see upcoming obstacles. Look for torches or light sources to illuminate your path. The zone features many slopes, allowing for high-speed sections, but these often lead to dangerous drops if not navigated carefully.

Strategy: Be extremely cautious around lava. Prioritize safe jumps over speed in these sections. In dark areas, move slowly and use your Spin Attack to clear any unseen enemies. Look for alternate paths that avoid the most dangerous lava pits.
