Hydrocity Zone's bosses are water-themed, requiring careful movement and timing in an aquatic environment. Maintaining your air supply is crucial during these encounters.
Mini-Boss: Screw Mobile
- Location: Hydrocity Zone Act 1
- Description: A large, drill-equipped machine that moves underwater.
- Attack Pattern: Moves horizontally, occasionally extending its drills to attack. It also creates water currents.
- Strategy: Attack the Screw Mobile when its drills are retracted. Wait for it to stop drilling, then jump and hit its top. Be mindful of the water currents it generates, which can push you into its path. Three to four hits will destroy it. If playing as Sonic, the Aqua Shield's bounce attack can be useful here.
- Weakness: Top when drills are retracted.
- Reward: Clear path to the next section.
Boss: Egg Mobile (Hydrocity)
- Location: Hydrocity Zone Act 2
- Description: Dr. Robotnik in a specialized underwater vehicle that creates whirlpools.
- Attack Pattern: Drops into the water, spins rapidly to create a powerful whirlpool that pulls you in, then rises out of the water.
- Strategy: The safest time to attack is when Robotnik is rising out of the water or just before he drops. Use a Spin Dash to gain speed and jump into his cockpit. Avoid getting caught in the whirlpool, as it can push you into the spikes on the arena floor. If you have the Aqua Shield, you won't drown, but you can still be damaged by spikes. Seven to eight hits will defeat him.

- Reward: Progress to Marble Garden Zone.
