Carnival Night Zone Act 1 introduces you to the whimsical yet challenging environment of a giant amusement park. Expect to bounce on springs, ride on rotating platforms, and navigate through sections with varying gravity. The level design is often non-linear, with multiple paths to the goal.

Key Features & Hazards:
- Bumper Pads: These launch you into the air, often to higher platforms or across gaps.
- Rotating Barrels: Infamous for their puzzle-like nature, these barrels require you to press up and down on the D-Pad to move them up or down, allowing you to pass.
- Pinball Flippers: Some sections resemble a giant pinball machine, with flippers that launch you around.
Strategy:
The key to Carnival Night Zone is understanding the mechanics of its unique platforms. The rotating barrels, in particular, can be a source of frustration if you don't know how to operate them (press up and down repeatedly). The Flame Shield is useful for its double jump, helping to reach high platforms, and the Lightning Shield's attraction to rings can be beneficial in chaotic pinball sections. Tails' flight can bypass many of the more frustrating platforming challenges, especially the barrels. Explore all paths, as many secrets and power-ups are hidden throughout the carnival. The mini-boss for this act is a spinning top robot.
Mini-Boss: Top Mobile
The Top Mobile is a spinning robot that moves back and forth, occasionally dropping smaller spinning tops. It's vulnerable when it's not spinning rapidly. Wait for it to slow down, then jump and hit its top. Be careful of the smaller tops it drops, as they can damage you. Three to four hits will destroy it. After defeating it, you'll continue through the festive chaos.
