Act 2 of IceCap Zone continues the icy theme, but introduces more complex ice puzzles, vertical shafts, and a greater emphasis on precise platforming over treacherous gaps. You'll encounter more advanced enemies and environmental hazards that require quick reflexes.

Key Features & Hazards:
- Ice Pillars: Some pillars can be pushed or broken, creating new paths or revealing secrets.
- Wind Tunnels: Sections with strong gusts of wind that can push you around, requiring careful navigation.
- Falling Icicles: Icicles that drop from the ceiling, requiring quick movement to avoid.
Strategy:
Patience and precise movement are key in this act. Use the Spin Dash to gain momentum on slippery slopes, but be ready to brake. The Aqua Shield remains invaluable for protection against freezing water and its bounce attack. Tails' flight can once again bypass many of the most challenging platforming sections and help him reach higher, safer paths. Look for hidden passages behind breakable ice walls or by pushing ice pillars. The boss of this zone is Dr. Robotnik in a giant ice-drilling machine.
Boss: Egg Mobile (Ice Drill)
Dr. Robotnik's IceCap boss is a large, ice-drilling machine that moves across the screen, periodically dropping ice blocks or firing ice projectiles. He is vulnerable when he is not drilling or firing. Wait for him to finish his attack, then jump and hit his cockpit. Be careful of the falling ice blocks and ice projectiles, as they can be difficult to avoid in the confined space. Seven to eight hits will defeat him. After this, you'll proceed to Launch Base Zone.
