Location: Star Light Zone Act 3
Description: Robotnik's Egg Mobile is attached to a large, spiked ball that swings like a pendulum. The arena is a flat ground.
Attack Pattern: Robotnik flies back and forth across the top, dropping the pendulum to swing. He varies the height and speed of the swing.
Strategy:
- Observe Pendulum: Watch the arc of the spiked pendulum. It's your primary hazard.
- Identify Opening: Robotnik is vulnerable when he is at the peak of his swing or just after he has dropped the pendulum and is momentarily stationary.
- Jump and Hit: Time your jump to hit the Egg Mobile itself. You'll need to jump over the swinging pendulum to reach him.
- Repeat: He requires 8 hits. After each hit, he will speed up his movements and the pendulum's swing, making it harder to hit him.
Key Tip: This boss requires precise timing and good jumping skills. Don't get greedy; wait for a clear opening. A shield power-up can be very helpful here, as it allows you to take one hit from the pendulum without losing all your rings.
