Act 1 introduces the core mechanics of Spring Yard. You'll immediately encounter numerous springs (red for horizontal, yellow for vertical) and bumpers (circular objects that bounce Sonic). Use these to navigate the complex level design. There are many opportunities to go high or low; generally, higher paths lead to more rings and power-ups. Watch out for the Spikes that swing on chains; time your movements to pass them safely.

A notable feature is the presence of 'bouncing pads' that launch Sonic upwards. Use these to reach elevated platforms. There's a hidden 1-Up Monitor in this Act: after a series of vertical springs that take you very high, look for a small platform to the far left. It requires a precise jump to land on. Practice using the Spin Dash to gain speed and launch yourself into springs for maximum height and distance. This Act is all about maintaining momentum and reacting quickly to the environment.
