Act 2 continues the high-speed theme but introduces more complex platforming with seesaws and moving platforms. The seesaws require you to balance Sonic on one end to launch yourself or a nearby object. To use them effectively, stand on one end, then jump to the other end to launch yourself high. The Splats enemies are also more common; they bounce unpredictably, so time your attacks carefully.

There are several sections with multiple pathways, some leading to dead ends, others to valuable power-ups. A notable secret in this Act is another 1-Up Monitor. After a series of seesaws and a long downhill section, you'll be launched into the air. Instead of landing on the main path, try to land on a small, hidden platform to the right, which contains the extra life. This Act rewards exploration and precise platforming, even at high speeds.
