  • Prioritize Rings: While the goal is the Emerald, collecting rings extends your time limit. More rings mean more attempts to reach the Emerald.
  • Learn the Layouts: Each Special Stage has a fixed layout. After a few attempts, you'll start to recognize the optimal path to the Emerald.
  • Gentle Control: Don't oversteer. Small, precise taps on the D-Pad are usually more effective than holding a direction, as Sonic's momentum is strong.
  • Avoid 'GOAL' Blocks: These are your biggest enemy. They are often placed strategically to trick you. Always be aware of their position.
  • Use Bumpers Wisely: Bumpers can either help or hinder. Sometimes they launch you towards the Emerald, other times away. Learn which ones to hit and which to avoid.
  • Practice Makes Perfect: Don't get discouraged if you fail. The Special Stages are designed to be challenging. Keep trying, and you'll eventually memorize the paths.

Remember, you can re-enter Special Stages as long as you have 50 rings at the end of an Act. If you fail, simply try again in the next Act or replay a previous one.
