The Egg Devil Ray is a flying boss encountered in Mazuri. You'll primarily fight this boss as Sonic, requiring precise aerial maneuvers.
Phases & Strategy:
- Phase 1: Aerial Pursuit: The Egg Devil Ray will fly ahead, dropping bombs and firing lasers. Boost to catch up and use Homing Attack on its engines or wings. Be mindful of the quicksand below.
- Phase 2: Dive Bomb: The boss will occasionally dive towards Sonic. Quick Step to the side to avoid its impact. After it misses, it will be temporarily vulnerable for a Homing Attack.
- Phase 3: Energy Orbs: It will fire homing energy orbs. Use Quick Step to dodge or Homing Attack through them if possible. Continue to attack its engines.
- Phase 4: Exposed Core: After enough damage, its central core will be exposed. Unleash a Boost attack directly into the core for heavy damage.
Weakness:
Its engines/wings are vulnerable during the chase, and its core is exposed after taking significant damage.
Rewards:
Completion of the stage, Rings, and EXP.
