  • Learn Combos: Experiment with different combinations of Light (X/Square) and Heavy (Y/Triangle) attacks. Each combo has different properties (e.g., area-of-effect, single-target, aerial).
  • Dodge and Block: Don't just mash attack. Learn enemy attack patterns and use Block (L2/Left Trigger) or Dodge (L2/Left Trigger + Left Stick) to avoid damage. Counter-attacking after a successful dodge or block is often very effective.
  • Utilize Unleashed Mode: Save your Unleashed Gauge for tough enemy groups or mini-bosses. It significantly boosts your attack and defense, allowing you to tear through enemies.
  • Grab and Throw: The Grab (B/Circle) ability is versatile. Grab smaller enemies and throw them at larger ones, or use environmental objects as projectiles.
  • Aerial Combat: Against flying enemies (Nightmares), use aerial combos. Jump and then unleash a series of attacks to keep them airborne and vulnerable.
  • Shield Breaking: Enemies with shields require specific tactics. Use charged heavy attacks or specific Shield Break skills (purchased from the Skill Shop) to shatter their defenses.

Practice in the early Werehog stages to get a feel for his combat. The more comfortable you are with his moveset, the easier later, more challenging encounters will be.
