Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1. Initial Ascent & First Dragon: Boldar

Upon entering Alpine Ridge, you'll find yourself at the base of a snowy path. Immediately to your left, you'll encounter your first few Small Fast Gnorcs. These enemies are quick but easily defeated with a simple flame attack. Proceed forward, collecting the scattered green and red gems (1-5 gems each). You'll soon come across your first Large Armored Gnorc. These formidable foes are invulnerable to standard flame attacks. To defeat them, you'll need to utilize the nearby Supercharge ramp. Initiate a Supercharge run, aim directly at the Armored Gnorc, and ram into it to defeat it and collect its blue gem (5 gems).

Continue along the main path, which winds upwards. You'll encounter more Small Fast Gnorcs and a few more Armored Gnorcs, requiring repeated use of Supercharge. Keep an eye out for clusters of gems tucked away in small alcoves off the main path. After a short climb, you'll reach a platform where the first dragon, Boldar, is encased in crystal. Flame him to free him and receive words of encouragement.

2. Navigating the Icy Peaks & Gnorc Gunners

From Boldar's platform, look for a series of elevated icy ledges. Carefully jump across these, collecting the gems as you go. Be mindful of the slippery surfaces, as a misstep can send you plummeting. You'll soon encounter a new enemy type: Gnorc Gunners. This temporary power-up grants Spyro an incredibly powerful, long-range flame attack that can instantly defeat any Gnorc, including the Armored variants, and destroy previously indestructible objects. Make the most of this power-up to clear out any remaining enemies and smash open any stubborn treasure chests or ice formations you couldn't before.

The Superflame power-up is particularly useful for clearing a path to the second dragon, Todor. Todor is typically located on one of the highest, most central peaks of Alpine Ridge. Use the Superflame to eliminate any Gnorc Gunners guarding his platform. Once the path is clear, flame Todor to free him and complete your dragon rescue mission for this realm.

4. Gem Hunting & Hidden Areas

After rescuing both dragons, your primary objective shifts to collecting the remaining gems. Alpine Ridge is notorious for its vertically scattered gems. Here are some key areas to revisit:

• Highest Peaks: Use the Supercharge ramps to reach the absolute highest points of the level. Many gems, including several valuable purple and yellow gems, are often placed on these precarious ledges.
• Supercharge Ramp Secrets: Re-examine all Supercharge ramps. Sometimes, the ramps lead to multiple paths or require precise aiming to hit a specific ice wall or enemy. One particular ramp leads to a series of floating platforms with a trail of gems.
• Edge of the Map: Carefully walk along the edges of platforms and ledges. Small clusters of gems are frequently hidden just out of sight.
• Behind Structures: Check behind large rock formations or icy structures.
