Each character in SSX Tricky has a selection of snowboards they can unlock. While the primary method of improving your character's stats is through earning medals in the World Circuit, some boards offer minor stat adjustments that can complement your chosen build or compensate for a character's weaknesses.
Types of Snowboards:
- Default Board: Every character starts with a basic board that has no special properties.
- Performance Boards: These boards are unlocked through World Circuit progression (e.g., earning a certain number of gold medals on specific courses). They often provide a slight boost to one or two stats, such as Speed, Tricky, or Air. For example, a board might offer a +1 bonus to Speed, making a fast character even faster, or giving a trick-focused character a slight edge in races.
- Signature Boards: These are typically the final boards unlocked for a character, often after achieving gold medals on all courses. They usually offer the most significant stat boosts or a balanced increase across multiple stats, representing the pinnacle of that character's equipment.
Unlocking Snowboards:
Snowboards are primarily unlocked by earning gold medals in the World Circuit. The more gold medals you accumulate with a specific character, the more boards become available for them. Always check the character customization screen to see the unlock requirements for each board. Choosing the right board can fine-tune your character's performance, giving you a slight edge in competitive events.
