Mesablanca's race is a test of speed and shortcut knowledge. The course starts with a wide-open section; use this to build initial speed and Tricky meter. Look for the numerous mine cart tracks that serve as excellent grind rails and shortcuts, especially in the early and middle sections of the course. There's a major shortcut through a mine shaft after the first large canyon jump; aim for the opening on the left. Another key shortcut involves jumping over a large chasm to a lower, faster path. Be wary of the numerous drops and ledges; while some can be used for shortcuts, others will lead to bails. Use your boost strategically on the long straightaways and after successful landings. The course has many opportunities to cut corners by jumping over small gaps or ledges. Practice in Freeride to identify the fastest lines and avoid getting lost in the winding canyons.
