Unlockables

SSX Tricky is packed with a ton of unlockable content, from new characters and boards to hidden courses and outfits. Mastering the World Circuit is key to unlocking most of these goodies. This section will detail how to acquire every secret in the game.

Characters

Unlocking new riders expands your roster and provides fresh challenges with their unique stats and personalities. There are two secret characters to discover:

  • Psymon Stark: To unlock this aggressive rider, you must achieve a Gold Medal in the World Circuit on every single course with any character. This means dominating all eight tracks (Snowdream, Elysium Alps, Mesablanca, Pipedream, Tokyo Megaplex, Aloha Ice Jam, Untracked, and Alaska) in Race mode. Psymon excels in aggression and trick potential, making him a formidable opponent and a fun character to master.
  • Brodi: Brodi is unlocked by achieving a Gold Medal in the World Circuit on every single course with any character. Similar to Psymon, this requires a clean sweep of all eight tracks in Race mode. Brodi offers a balanced approach, making him a versatile choice for both racing and showoff events.

Boards

New boards offer improved stats and sometimes even unique visual flair. Each character has a set of boards to unlock, culminating in their ultimate "Tricky" board.

  • Character Boards (Tier 2 & 3): As you progress through the World Circuit with a specific character, you will unlock their higher-tier boards. Generally, achieving Silver and Gold Medals in various events will make these boards available for purchase in the rider selection screen. Focus on completing all events with your chosen character to ensure you get access to their best equipment.
  • Tricky Boards: These are the ultimate boards for each character, offering the best stats and a distinct visual style. To unlock a character's Tricky Board, you must achieve a Gold Medal in every event (Race and Showoff) on every course with that specific character. This is a significant undertaking, requiring mastery of both speed and trick execution. Once unlocked, the Tricky Board will be available for purchase.

Outfits

Customize your favorite riders with new threads! Each character has two additional outfits beyond their default attire.

  • Alternate Outfits (Outfit 2 & 3): To unlock a character's second and third outfits, you need to achieve specific milestones with that character in the World Circuit. Typically, unlocking Outfit 2 requires earning a certain number of Gold Medals across various events, while Outfit 3 demands even more comprehensive success, often including Gold Medals on all tracks in both Race and Showoff modes. Keep an eye on your progress and aim for those top finishes!

Courses

While most courses are available from the start, there's one legendary track that requires some serious dedication to unlock.

  • Untracked: This challenging, off-piste course is unlocked by achieving a Gold Medal in the World Circuit on every single course (Snowdream, Elysium Alps, Mesablanca, Pipedream, Tokyo Megaplex, Aloha Ice Jam, and Alaska) with any character. This means you need to conquer all the initial tracks in Race mode to gain access to this untamed wilderness. Untracked features numerous hidden paths and extreme drops, making it a favorite for advanced players and trick enthusiasts.
  • Alaska: This iconic track is unlocked by achieving a Gold Medal in the World Circuit on every single course (Snowdream, Elysium Alps, Mesablanca, Pipedream, Tokyo Megaplex, and Aloha Ice Jam) with any character. Similar to Untracked, you'll need to prove your racing prowess across the preceding tracks to shred down the slopes of Alaska.

Game Modes & Bonuses

Beyond characters and courses, there are a few other exciting bonuses to uncover.

  • Uber Tricks: While not strictly an "unlockable" in the traditional sense, mastering Uber Tricks is essential for unlocking many other items. Successfully performing 6 unique Uber Tricks in a single run will put your character "On Fire," granting a significant speed boost and making it easier to achieve high scores and win races. Practice your Uber Trick combinations to maximize your potential.
  • Bonus Music Tracks: As you progress through the World Circuit and unlock various items, new music tracks will become available in the game's sound options. These are generally tied to overall completion and the unlocking of other major items. Keep playing and exploring to expand your in-game soundtrack!
