Artifacts are unique, naturally occurring anomalies that can be found in anomaly fields. When equipped, they provide passive bonuses to your character, such as increased health regeneration, stamina, carrying capacity, or resistance to various environmental hazards (radiation, chemical, psionic, fire, electrical). However, many artifacts also come with negative side effects, such as increased radiation exposure or reduced stamina.
Choosing the right combination of artifacts is a key strategic element. You can equip multiple artifacts, and their effects stack. Use a 'Container' or 'Detector' to safely carry and identify artifacts. Experiment with different combinations to create a loadout that complements your playstyle and current mission. For example, when entering a highly irradiated area, prioritize artifacts that boost radiation resistance, even if they have minor negative side effects.
