Weapon upgrades allow you to enhance your firearms' performance, tailoring them to your specific combat needs and the ever-evolving threats of the Zone. This system transforms your trusty rifle into a precision instrument or a devastating close-quarters weapon.

Weapon upgrades are typically performed at specialized workbenches found in safe zones or at the camps of friendly factions. To perform an upgrade, you'll need specific components, tools, and often a certain level of skill or a prerequisite upgrade already installed. These components can be scavenged from defeated enemies, found in hidden caches, or purchased from vendors. The type of upgrade available depends on the weapon itself, with different firearms supporting different modification slots.
