The First Step: "Echoes of the Past"

This introductory quest will guide you through the basics of survival and introduce you to the Cordon area. Pay close attention to the tutorial prompts.

  1. Objective: Reach the Bandit Camp.
    • Start by following the marked path from your initial spawn point.
    • Be aware of mutated wildlife like Blowouts and Snorks. Use your pistol, the "Makarych", to dispatch them.
    • Loot fallen enemies for basic supplies like Bandages and Energy Drinks.
  2. Objective: Retrieve the Stolen PDA.
    • The Bandit Camp is located to the northwest. You'll encounter several bandits armed with AKM-74/2 rifles.
    • Strategy: Use cover extensively. Aim for headshots to conserve ammunition. If overwhelmed, retreat and find a flanking position.
    • Locate the bandit leader, easily identifiable by his unique armor. He will be guarding the PDA.
    • After defeating the leader, loot his body for the Stolen PDA.
  3. Objective: Return to the Trader.
    • Head back to the trader at the Skadovsk. He will offer you a reward and further guidance.
    • On your return journey, be cautious of potential ambushes and anomalies. The "Springboard" anomaly can be deadly if not avoided.

Navigating Anomalies: "The Whispering Woods"

This quest introduces you to the dangers of anomalies and the importance of using an Anomaly Detector.

  1. Objective: Investigate the anomaly cluster.
    • Travel to the designated area in the western part of the Cordon.
    • Equip your "Veles" Anomaly Detector. It will beep and display readings as you approach anomalies.
    • Strategy: Observe the detector's behavior and the visual cues in the environment (e.g., shimmering air, floating debris) to identify safe paths.
    • You will encounter anomalies such as "Whirligig" and "Electro".
  2. Objective: Find the artifact.
    • Within the anomaly cluster, you'll find a valuable artifact, likely a "Jellyfish" or "Stone Flower".
    • Strategy: Carefully time your movements between anomaly pulses. Use thrown bolts to test the ground ahead.
    • Once you retrieve the artifact, return it to the quest giver.

Remember to always keep an eye on your inventory for essential items like medkits, ammo, and food. The Zone is unforgiving, and preparation is key to survival.
