Character Progression & Customization
In Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, Cal Kestis's journey is one of both external conflict and internal growth. Character progression and customization allow you to shape Cal into the Jedi you envision, enhancing his combat abilities, Force powers, and even his appearance.
Skill Tree Progression:
The core of Cal's progression lies in his skill tree, which is divided into three distinct branches:
- Survival: This branch focuses on enhancing Cal's resilience. Skills here increase his maximum health, improve the effectiveness of Stim Canisters, and unlock abilities like 'Second Wind' for quick health regeneration. Investing in Survival makes Cal more durable and forgiving in combat.
- Force: This branch bolsters Cal's connection to the Force. Skills improve the potency and efficiency of his Force powers, such as Force Push, Force Pull, and Force Slow. It also unlocks new Force abilities that are crucial for both combat and puzzle-solving.
- Lightsaber: This branch enhances Cal's mastery of his lightsaber. Skills unlock new combat combos, increase damage output, and improve the effectiveness of his melee attacks. This branch is for players who prefer a more aggressive, direct combat style.
Skill points are earned by leveling up, which is achieved through gaining experience points (XP) from defeating enemies and discovering Force Echoes. You can spend skill points at any Meditation Point.
Lightsaber Customization:
Your lightsaber is your primary weapon, and its appearance can be customized by finding various parts scattered throughout the galaxy. These parts are typically found in chests and include:
- Hilts: The main body of the lightsaber.
- Emitters: The part where the blade emerges.
- Switches: The activation mechanism on the hilt.
Each part offers a unique visual style, allowing you to create a personalized lightsaber. You can change your lightsaber parts at any Meditation Point.
Outfits and Appearance:
While Cal's core Jedi attire is fixed, you can find various cosmetic items to alter his appearance. The most notable of these are the iconic Ponchos, which can be found in chests on different planets. These offer a distinct visual flair and are purely cosmetic.
BD-1 Customization:
BD-1 also has cosmetic customization options. You can find various BD-1 Skins, usually within chests, that change the color and des of your droid companion.
The Mantis Paint Jobs:
The crew's ship, the Stinger Mantis, can also be customized with different Paint Jobs, found in chests. These offer a way to personalize your mobile base.
By strategically investing in Cal's skill tree and collecting cosmetic items, you can tailor your experience in Jedi: Fallen Order to your preferred playstyle and aesthetic.
