BD-1 & Utility
BD-1 is your loyal droid companion and an indispensable tool throughout your journey in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Beyond his charming personality, BD-1 provides crucial utility functions that are vital for both exploration and combat. He can hack terminals, repair Cal, and most importantly, dispense Stim Canisters, which are your primary source of healing. Mastering BD-1's abilities and understanding how to best utilize his functions will sificantly improve your survivability and progression through the game.
BD-1's primary role is to assist Cal Kestis in overcoming obstacles and surviving the harsh environments he encounters. His most critical function is dispensing Stim Canisters. These are limited healing items that replenish Cal's health and are replenished at Meditation Points. BD-1 can also interface with various terminals and machinery throughout the galaxy, opening new paths, activating ancient mechanisms, or providing Cal with vital information. Some of these interactions are mandatory for story progression, while others unlock optional areas or secrets.
Beyond his functional uses, BD-1 also serves as a repository for scanned data. By using BD-1's scanner on creatures, droids, and environmental objects, Cal can fill out his databank, unlocking lore entries and sometimes revealing weaknesses or tactical advantages. This scanning mechanic is crucial for understanding the game's world and its inhabitants.
Key BD-1 Functions:
- Stim Canister Dispensing: BD-1 carries your healing Stim Canisters. When Cal's health is depleted, he can request a Stim from BD-1. These are replenished at Meditation Points.
- Hacking Terminals: BD-1 can hack into various Imperial and ancient terminals, granting access to new areas, disabling security systems, or activating machinery.
- Repairing Cal: In certain situations, BD-1 can repair Cal if he sustains damage that isn't fully healed by a Stim.
