Understanding the HUD & UI Elements — Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Guide

Mastering the Heads-Up Display (HUD) and User Interface (UI) is crucial for survival and success in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. These elements provide vital information about Cal Kestis's status, available abilities, and the surrounding environment, allowing you to make informed decisions during combat and exploration.

The HUD is your constant companion, displaying key metrics at all times. The most prominent element is the Health Bar, typically located at the bottom center of the screen. This bar depletes as Cal takes damage and can be replenished by using Stim Canisters or resting at Meditation Points. Adjacent to the Health Bar is the Force Meter, which indicates the amount of Force energy Cal has available. Force abilities, such as Force Push, Pull, and Slow, consume Force energy, which regenerates over time or can be partially restored by defeating enemies.

In the upper left corner, you'll usually find the Experience Bar. As you defeat enemies and complete objectives, you gain experience points that fill this bar. Once filled, you can spend skill points at Meditation Points to unlock new abilities or enhance existing ones in the skill tree.

The UI also includes important contextual information. When interacting with the environment, prompts will appear, indicating available actions like climbing, sliding, or using Force abilities. During combat, enemy health bars will appear above their heads, along with indicators for their attack patterns or vulnerabilities. Pay close attention to these cues to effectively parry, dodge, or counter enemy assaults.

Key UI elements to be aware of:

  • Health Bar: Your life force. Depletes with damage, refills with Stims or Meditation.
  • Force Meter: Your energy for Force abilities. Consumed by powers, regenerates over time or from combat.
  • Experience Bar: Tracks your progress towards leveling up and unlocking new skills.
  • Objective Markers: Usually displayed on the Holomap and sometimes on the HUD to guide you.
  • Enemy Indicators: Show enemy health, attack warnings, and parry opportunities.
  • Ability Prompts: Contextual buttons for actions like climbing, interacting, or using special moves.

Understanding these elements will sificantly improve your gameplay experience. Learning to manage your Health and Force meters effectively, coupled with recognizing enemy attack patterns displayed through the UI, will make you a more formidable Jedi.
