Instead, they require specialized repair kits and a high Repair skill to function optimally. Droid companions, such as T3-M4 and HK-47, have their own distinct repair mechanics. They cannot be healed by standard medpacks or Force powers. Instead, you will need to utilize Repair Kits, which can be found as loot, purchased from vendors, or sometimes crafted. The effectiveness of these kits is directly tied to your character's Repair skill. A higher Repair skill not only allows you to use standard repair kits more effectively but also unlocks the ability to perform more complex repairs and even maintain your droids' advanced systems.

Certain droid components might require specific parts to be fully functional or to unlock their full potential. For instance, HK-47's extensive dialogue and combat effectiveness are tied to finding his scattered parts. These parts are often found in loot containers, on defeated enemies, or can be purchased from merchants. Keep an eye out for items like HK Vocabulator, HK Control Cluster, and HK Droid Processor.

The Repair skill is paramount for droid maintenance. Investing points into this skill will directly improve your ability to heal your droids. It's also worth noting that some droids have unique abilities or upgrades that can only be accessed or utilized if their repair status is optimal. For example, T3-M4's technical prowess can be further enhanced through proper maintenance and upgrades.
