Dustil Onasi's Trials

This quest offers a pivotal moment for players with Carth Onasi in their party, allowing for significant influence gains or losses with him, and a crucial decision regarding Dustil's fate.

Initiation & Location:

  • NPC: Dustil Onasi
  • Location: Sith Academy, Dormitories (first room on the right after entering the Academy from the main entrance).
  • Trigger: Speak to Dustil Onasi. If Carth is in your party, a unique dialogue sequence will trigger.

Walkthrough:

  1. Speak to Dustil: Upon entering the Sith Academy, find Dustil Onasi in the dormitories. He will express his disillusionment with the Sith and his desire to leave, but fears the consequences.
  2. Confront Uthar Wynn: Dustil asks you to speak with Uthar Wynn, the headmaster, about his situation. Uthar is located in his office at the end of the main hall of the Sith Academy.
  3. The "Prove Your Loyalty" Task: Uthar will demand proof of Dustil's loyalty. He will instruct you to retrieve a datapad from the footlocker of a former student, Kel Algwin, who was executed for treason.
  4. Retrieve Kel Algwin's Datapad:
    • Location: Kel Algwin's footlocker is located in the Sith Academy, Dueling Room (the large room with the central dueling arena).
    • Action: Open the footlocker to find the datapad.
  5. Return to Uthar Wynn: Present the datapad to Uthar. He will then give you a new task: to kill Dustil Onasi to prove your loyalty to the Sith.
  6. The Confrontation:
    • Option 1 (Light Side/Carth Influence): Return to Dustil and tell him Uthar's command. If Carth is with you, he will intervene. You can then persuade Dustil to flee Korriban. This requires a successful Persuade check (DC 15-20, depending on your alignment). If successful, Dustil escapes, and you gain significant Light Side points and Carth influence. You will need to lie to Uthar about Dustil's death.
    • Option 2 (Dark Side): Kill Dustil Onasi as Uthar commanded. This will result in significant Dark Side points and a loss of Carth influence. Return to Uthar to report the kill.
    • Option 3 (Neutral/Carth Loss): If you fail the Persuade check or choose not to intervene, Dustil will attack you. You will be forced to kill him. This results in Dark Side points and a significant loss of Carth influence.

Rewards & Consequences:

  • Light Side Path:
    • XP: 500 XP
    • Alignment: Significant Light Side points.
    • Carth Influence: Significant positive influence gain.
    • Items: None directly, but avoids a confrontation with Carth.
  • Dark Side Path:
    • XP: 500 XP
    • Alignment: Significant Dark Side points.
    • Carth Influence: Significant negative influence loss.
    • Items: Dustil's Robes (minor defensive bonus, not unique).

Common Pitfalls:

  • Bringing Carth into the Academy can make the Dustil quest emotionally charged. Be prepared for his reactions.
  • Failing the Persuade check on Dustil can lead to an unavoidable fight, even if you intended a Light Side outcome. Save before attempting the persuasion.

Jorak Uln's Experiments

This quest delves into the darker side of Sith research, offering a chance to gain favor with Uthar or expose Jorak's cruelty.

Initiation & Location:

  • NPC: Jorak Uln
  • Location: Sith Academy, Torture Chamber (first door on the left in the main hall, past the dormitories).
  • Trigger: Speak to Jorak Uln. He will ask you to retrieve a datapad from a former student, Shaardan, who is now a prisoner.

Walkthrough:

  1. Speak to Jorak Uln: Enter the Torture Chamber and speak with Jorak Uln. He is conducting "experiments" on a prisoner named Shaardan. Jorak will ask you to retrieve a datapad from Shaardan's footlocker, claiming it contains dangerous information.
  2. Confront Shaardan: Speak to Shaardan, who is strapped to a torture rack. He will plead for help and reveal that Jorak is torturing him for information about a hidden cache of items.
  3. Retrieve Shaardan's Datapad:
    • Location: Shaardan's footlocker is in the same room, near the entrance.
    • Action: Open the footlocker to find the datapad.
  4. The Choice:
    • Option 1 (Light Side/Expose Jorak): Take the datapad to Uthar Wynn. Presenting the datapad and explaining Jorak's cruel experiments will lead Uthar to punish Jorak.
    • Option 2 (Dark Side/Aid Jorak): Return the datapad to Jorak Uln. He will be pleased and continue his experiments.

Rewards & Consequences:

  • Light Side Path (Expose Jorak):
    • XP: 500 XP
    • Alignment: Significant Light Side points.
    • Items: Uthar will reward you with 200 credits and a minor boost to your standing in the Academy. Jorak Uln will be executed, and you can loot his body for a Sith Tremor Sword (Attack +3, Damage 2-12 Slashing, 1-6 Sonic).
  • Dark Side Path (Aid Jorak):
    • XP: 500 XP
    • Alignment: Significant Dark Side points.
    • Items: Jorak Uln will reward you with 200 credits and a minor boost to your standing in the Academy.

Strategy Tips:

  • If you choose to expose Jorak, be prepared for Uthar's judgment. He values strength and cunning, so your explanation should reflect that you are eliminating a weak link, not acting out of compassion.

Uncovering Ajunta Pall's Tomb

This quest is a central part of your Sith trials and involves exploring the dangerous Valley of the Dark Lords, culminating in a significant moral choice.

Initiation & Location:

  • NPC: Uthar Wynn or Yuthura Ban
  • Location: Sith Academy, Uthar's Office or Yuthura's Quarters.
  • Trigger: This quest is given as part of your primary Sith trials by either Uthar or Yuthura after you have completed a few initial tasks (like the "Rod of the Dark Jedi" quest). They will instruct you to retrieve Ajunta Pall's blade from his tomb in the Valley of the Dark Lords.

Walkthrough:

  1. Receive the Task: Uthar or Yuthura will instruct you to enter Ajunta Pall's tomb and retrieve his unique blade. They will provide you with a Sith Pass Card to access the Valley of the Dark Lords.
  2. Travel to the Valley of the Dark Lords: Exit the Sith Academy and proceed to the Valley of the Dark Lords. The entrance to Ajunta Pall's Tomb is located on the far western side of the valley, past the Shyrack Caves.
  3. Navigate Ajunta Pall's Tomb:
    • Entrance Puzzle: The tomb entrance requires you to place a specific item into a receptacle. You will find a Sith Medallion on a corpse near the entrance. Place it in the pedestal.
    • Tomb Guardians: Be prepared for combat against various creatures, including Tuk'ata and Dark Jedi spirits.
    • The Three Pillars Puzzle: In one chamber, you'll find three pillars. You need to activate them in a specific order to open the next door. The correct order is: Middle, Left, Right.
    • The Crypt: You will eventually reach Ajunta Pall's crypt. Here, you will find his sarcophagus and his spirit.
  4. Confront Ajunta Pall's Spirit:
    • The Spirit's Plea: Ajunta Pall's spirit will appear, revealing that he regrets his past actions and wishes for his blade to be purified. He will ask you to cleanse it.
    • The Choice:
      • Option 1 (Light Side/Redemption): Agree to cleanse Ajunta Pall's blade. This requires a successful Persuade check (DC 15-20). If successful, you will receive Ajunta Pall's Shard (a purified version of his blade) and significant Light Side points.
      • Option 2 (Dark Side/Corruption): Refuse to cleanse the blade and take it as is. This will result in significant Dark Side points. You will receive Ajunta Pall's Blade (the corrupted version).
      • Option 3 (Combat): If you fail the Persuade check or choose to attack, Ajunta Pall's spirit will become hostile. Defeating him will allow you to take the corrupted blade.
  5. Return to the Sith Academy: With the blade in hand, return to Uthar Wynn or Yuthura Ban to complete your trial.

Rewards & Consequences:

  • Light Side Path (Redemption):
    • XP: 1000 XP (for completing the trial) + 500 XP (for cleansing the blade).
    • Alignment: Significant Light Side points.
    • Item: Ajunta Pall's Shard (Lightsaber Crystal: Attack +2, Damage +2, Critical Threat 19-20, x2, Universal). This is a powerful crystal.
  • Dark Side Path (Corruption):
    • XP: 1000 XP.
    • Alignment: Significant Dark Side points.
    • Item: Ajunta Pall's Blade (Short Lightsaber: Attack +1, Damage 2-12 Slashing, 1-6 Dark Side, Critical Threat 19-20, x2). While a decent weapon, the Shard is generally superior for a Jedi.

Strategy Tips & Missables:

  • Companions: Bring companions with good combat abilities, as the tomb contains several challenging encounters. Juhani or Canderous are excellent choices.
  • Force Powers: Dark Side users will find Force Storm and Death Field effective against groups of spirits. Light Side users can rely on Stun and Force Valor.
  • Loot Everything: The tomb contains several footlockers and containers with valuable credits, components, and minor upgrades.
  • The Shyrack Caves: While not directly part of Ajunta Pall's Tomb, the Shyrack Caves (also in the Valley) contain additional enemies and loot, and are often explored concurrently. Be wary of the large number of Shyracks.

Other Minor Quests & Interactions:

  • The Rod of the Dark Jedi: This is a mandatory trial given by Uthar or Yuthura. You must retrieve the "Rod of the Dark Jedi" from the Shyrack Caves. This involves defeating a powerful Tuk'ata Alpha. The Rod itself is a quest item, not a usable weapon.
  • Finding the Code for the Sith Base: Another mandatory trial. You need to find a datapad with the access code for the Sith Base (where the Star Map is located). This datapad is found on a corpse in the Valley of the Dark Lords, near the entrance to the Shyrack Caves.
  • Sith Student Rivalries: Throughout the Academy, you can engage in dialogue with various Sith students. Some interactions can lead to minor Dark Side points or small credit rewards for intimidating or outsmarting them.
