While KOTOR is a highly polished game, certain sequences of actions or specific game states can lead to minor or major glitches. These can range from visual anomalies and audio bugs to more critical issues like quest progression blockers or corrupted save files.

Common types of glitches and avoidance strategies:

• Quest Progression Bugs: Sometimes, an NPC might not appear, a dialogue option might be missing, or an objective might not trigger correctly. This can often be resolved by reloading a previous save file, ensuring you haven't missed a crucial step, or sometimes by leaving the area and returning.
• AI/Pathfinding Issues: Companions or enemies might get stuck on terrain, move erratically, or fail to engage in combat. Usually, moving your party or reloading the save corrects this.
• Inventory/Item Duplication Glitches: In rare instances, players have reported issues with items duplicating or disappearing. Careful inventory management and avoiding rapid save/load cycles during inventory access can help.
• Visual/Audio Glitches: Textures might not load properly, character models might appear distorted, or sound effects might be missing or loop incorrectly. These are often minor and may resolve themselves, or a game restart might help.
• Sand People Clothing Glitch (Tatooine): A known issue occurs if you use the 'Return to Ebon Hawk' function while wearing Sand People disguise. This can cause Sand People to attack you even when disguised. The fix is to remove the disguise before using the RTS function, or to reload and approach the Sand People enclave without the disguise, then put it on.
