With your FTL drive operational, Esther will task you with finding the six Ancient Artifacts to reactivate the Ancient Gates. Each artifact is tied to a specific race and requires completing a unique mission. These missions are unlocked by finding clues on planets inhabited by that race, often through scanning objects or completing minor quests for NPCs.
