Upon starting a new game, you'll customize your farmer. Choose your gender, skin tone, hair, eyes, and clothing. These are purely cosmetic and don't affect gameplay. More importantly, you'll select your farm type. Each farm offers unique advantages:
- Standard Farm: Most space for crops and animals. Recommended for beginners.
- Riverland Farm: More water for fishing, less land for crops.
- Forest Farm: Foraging opportunities, hardwood stumps, less open space.
- Hill-top Farm: Mining opportunities, less open space.
- Wilderness Farm: Monsters spawn at night, good for combat practice.
- Four Corners Farm: Divided into four distinct sections, good for co-op.
