Walkthrough

The main story of Stardew Valley centers around restoring Pelican Town's Community Center, a task requested by the Junimos, spirits of the forest. This beginner's guide, updated for the 1.6 update, will help you get started on your farm and understand core mechanics. Story quests often involve delivering specific items to villagers, which helps progress the narrative and build relationships.

Key story quests include:

  • Give the War Memento to Kent.
  • Give the Gourmet Tomato Salt to Gus.
  • Give the Stardew Valley Rose to Sandy.
  • Give the Advanced TV.

Beyond story quests, completing the Museum's collection by donating artifacts is a significant part of the game. There are 42 artifacts in total, and donating them can yield valuable rewards:

  • Donating the Ancient Drum (with at least 2 other artifacts) rewards a Drum Block.
  • Donating an Ancient Seed rewards an Ancient Seed crafting recipe and 1 Ancient Seeds pack for planting.
  • Donating the Bone Flute (with at least 2 other artifacts) rewards a Flute Block.
  • Donating the Chicken Statue (with at least 4 other artifacts) rewards a Chicken Statue furniture item.
  • Donating all four Dwarf Scrolls unlocks the Dwarvish Translation Guide, allowing communication with the Dwarf merchant in the Mines and Volcano Dungeon.
  • Donating the prehistoric bone pieces rewards Sloth Skeleton furniture pieces.
  • Donating the Rare Disc and Dwarf Gadget (with at least 9 other artifacts) rewards the 'Burnt Offering' painting.
