Character Unlock Guide

Welcome, aspiring World Warriors! Unlike previous iterations, Street Fighter 6 offers a unique approach to expanding your roster beyond the initial lineup. While the core cast is available from the get-go, several fan-favorite characters are introduced through the game's innovative World Tour mode and future DLC releases. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the steps to unlock every available character, ensuring you're ready to master their unique fighting styles.

World Tour Mode Unlocks

Street Fighter 6's immersive World Tour acts as a fantastic tutorial and a gateway to unlocking several iconic characters. By progressing through the main story and completing specific character-related quests, you'll gain access to their fighting styles and, in some cases, the characters themselves for use in other modes.

Mastering the Masters: Acquiring Fighting Styles

The primary way to "unlock" characters in World Tour is by becoming their student. Once you've become a student, you can learn their unique fighting style and special moves, which can then be applied to your custom avatar. While this doesn't directly unlock them as playable characters in Fighting Ground or Battle Hub, it's a crucial step in understanding their mechanics and often precedes their full unlock.

  • Luke: Your very first master! Luke's fighting style is automatically acquired during the introductory chapters of World Tour as part of the main questline. Simply follow the tutorial prompts in Metro City.
  • Ryu: After a few initial missions with Luke, you'll be directed to seek out Ryu. He can be found meditating near the Genbu Temple in Nayshall. Complete his initial training sequence to become his student.
  • Chun-Li: Located in Chun-Li's Training Ground within Metro City's Chinatown district. You'll encounter her naturally as you progress through the World Tour story.
  • Jamie: Find Jamie performing in the Bustling Bar area of Metro City's Chinatown. Engage with him to begin his student questline.
  • Guile: Guile can be found at the Air Force Base in the United States. You'll need to unlock travel to this region through the main World Tour story.
  • Kimberly: Kimberly is often found practicing her moves in the Central Station Plaza area of Metro City. Keep an eye out for her distinctive graffiti art.
  • Juri: Juri makes her appearance later in the World Tour narrative. She is typically encountered in the Old Nayshall Backstreets after significant story progression.
  • Ken: Ken is initially difficult to track down. You'll eventually find him at the Construction Site in Metro City after advancing the main storyline and receiving a specific quest to locate him.
  • Blanka: Blanka can be found in the Amazon Jungle region, which becomes accessible later in World Tour. Look for him near the Blanka's Hideout landmark.
  • Dhalsim: Dhalsim resides in the Dhalsim's Temple in India. Travel to this region will be unlocked through story progression.
  • E. Honda: E. Honda can be found at his Chanko Restaurant in Metro City's Japantown.
  • Dee Jay: Dee Jay is located on Bathers Beach in Jamaica. This location becomes available as you progress through the World Tour story.
  • Manon: Manon can be found at the Eiffel Tower in France. Travel to France is unlocked later in the World Tour.
  • Marisa: Marisa is typically found training in the Colosseum in Italy. Access to Italy is granted through the World Tour narrative.
  • JP: JP is a later-game master. You'll encounter him in Nayshall's High-Rise District after significant story progression and specific quests.
  • Lily: Lily can be found in the Thunderfoot Settlement in Mexico. This region becomes available as you advance through the World Tour story.

DLC Characters: Expanding Your Roster

Street Fighter 6 will feature a robust post-launch content plan, introducing new playable characters through various DLC seasons. These characters are typically purchased individually or as part of a Season Pass.

Year 1 Character Pass

The Year 1 Character Pass is the most cost-effective way to acquire all the DLC characters released within the first year of Street Fighter 6's launch. Purchasing this pass grants immediate access to each character as they become available.

  • Rashid: The first DLC character, Rashid, was released in Summer 2023. If you own the Year 1 Character Pass, he will be automatically added to your roster. Otherwise, he can be purchased individually from the in-game store or your platform's digital storefront (PlayStation Store, Xbox Marketplace, Steam).
  • A.K.I.: A.K.I. is scheduled for release in Autumn 2023. Similar to Rashid, she will be accessible to Year 1 Pass holders upon release or can be bought separately.
  • Ed: Ed is slated for release in Winter 2024. Year 1 Pass owners will receive him automatically.
  • Akuma: Akuma, a fan-favorite, is expected to arrive in Spring 2024. He will be included with the Year 1 Character Pass.

How to Access DLC Characters

Once a DLC character is purchased or unlocked via a Season Pass, they will immediately become available in the following game modes:

  • Fighting Ground: Select them directly from the character select screen in Versus, Arcade, Training, and Online modes.
  • Battle Hub: You can choose them as your fighter in Battle Hub matches.
  • World Tour: While you won't necessarily "unlock" their fighting style for your avatar in the same way as base game masters, DLC characters often have unique side quests or interactions within World Tour that provide additional lore and rewards.
