Co-op Strategies & Teamwork Tips

Streets of Rage 4 shines brightest in its co-operative multiplayer, where coordinated attacks and mutual support can make even the toughest stages manageable. Playing with friends requires more than just button-mashing; effective teamwork is key to survival and success.

One of the most fundamental co-op strategies is to divide and conquer. While it might seem counterintuitive in a beat 'em up, having players cover different angles can prevent enemies from overwhelming the group. One player can focus on drawing enemy attention while another flanks them, or You can split up to deal with ranged attackers and melee threats simultaneously.

Communication is paramount. Call out dangerous enemies, especially those with tricky attack patterns like Estel Aguirre or the various boss encounters. Alerting your teammates to incoming projectiles or powerful special moves can save them valuable health. Likewise, coordinate your special moves. Unleashing multiple specials at once can clear large groups of enemies or deal massive damage to a boss, but doing so randomly can be wasteful.

Reviving fallen teammates is a critical aspect of co-op. When a player is downed, they enter a downed state and can be revived by another player by standing over them and pressing the attack button. Prioritize revives when it's safe to do so, as losing a player sificantly increases the difficulty. However, don't rush into a revive if it means putting yourself in immediate danger.

Consider character synergy. While all characters are capable, some combinations can be particularly effective. For instance, characters with strong crowd control abilities can set up opportunities for characters with high single-target damage. Experiment with different team compositions to find what works best for your group. Finally, remember to share health items. If a teammate is critically low on health and you have a surplus, offer them the consumable. A little generosity can go a long way in keeping the team alive.
