Normal Enemies
Goomba
- Description: The classic, mushroom-shaped foot soldier of the Koopa Troop. Goombas are typically slow-moving and predictable.
- Common Locations: Found in nearly every World, especially prevalent in early stages like World 1-1: Super Bell Hill, World 1-2: Koopa Troopa Cave, and World 2-1: Conkdor's High Hopes.
- Strategies:
- Stomp: The most straightforward method. Simply jump on their head.
- Fireball: If you have a Fire Flower, a single fireball will defeat them from a distance.
- Super Bell: As Cat Mario, a quick claw swipe (Y button) or a dive attack (ZL + Y in mid-air) will take them out.
- Propeller Box: Wearing a Propeller Box allows for a powerful ground pound that can clear multiple Goombas.
- Drops: Occasionally drops a Coin or a Super Mushroom if you're low on health.
Koopa Troopa
- Description: Turtle-like creatures with hard shells. They come in various colors, but the green ones are the most common and walk in straight lines. Red Koopa Troopas patrol ledges and turn around to avoid falling off.
- Common Locations: Abundant in stages like World 1-2: Koopa Troopa Cave, World 2-2: Plessie's Plunging Falls, and World 3-1: Snowball Park.
- Strategies:
- Stomp & Kick: Jump on a Koopa Troopa to make it retreat into its shell. You can then pick up the shell (hold Y) and throw it (release Y) to defeat other enemies or break Brick Blocks. Alternatively, kick the shell to send it sliding.
- Fireball: A Fire Flower is highly effective. One fireball will defeat them, often leaving their shell behind to be used.
- Super Bell: Cat Mario's claw attack is effective.
- Boomerang Flower: The Boomerang Flower allows you to hit them from a distance and retrieve the boomerang.
- Drops: May drop a Coin.
Paratroopa
- Description: Flying Koopa Troopas equipped with wings. Green Paratroopas fly in a set pattern, while Red Paratroopas often follow You or patrol specific areas.
- Common Locations: Frequently encountered in World 1-3: Mount Beanpole, World 2-3: Shadow-Play Alley, and World 3-3: Shifty Boo Mansion.
- Strategies:
- Stomp (Twice): A single stomp will remove their wings, turning them into a regular Koopa Troopa. A second stomp will defeat them or allow you to kick their shell.
- Fireball: One fireball from a Fire Flower will defeat them instantly, regardless of their wings.
- Super Bell: As Cat Mario, a well-timed pounce or claw attack can take them down.
- Boomerang Flower: Excellent for hitting flying enemies from afar.
- Drops: Can drop a Coin or a Super Mushroom.
Piranha Plant

- Common Locations: Found in World 1-1: Super Bell Hill (emerging from pipes), World 2-4: Double Cherry Pass (fire-spitting variants), and World 3-4: Bullet Bill Base.
- Strategies:

- Invincibility: A Super Star allows you to run through them unharmed.
