Enter the mansion and defeat all the Boos in the main hall. To defeat a Boo, you need to hit it from behind (punch or kick) when it's visible. Once all the Boos in the main hall are defeated, a Big Boo will appear. Defeat the Big Boo in the same manner. After defeating the Big Boo, the Power Star will appear in the main hall. This is the introductory star for the Big Boo's Haunt level, and it serves as a good introduction to the game's spectral enemies. The Boos in the main hall will attempt to evade Mario, often disappearing and reappearing. Players must be patient and time their attacks carefully, ensuring they strike the Boos when they are solid and vulnerable. The appearance of the Big Boo sifies a greater challenge, requiring Mario to employ the same hit-from-behind strategy but with a more powerful foe. Successfully clearing the main hall of its ghostly inhabitants is key to obtaining this Power Star.
