Throughout Subcon, numerous 1-Up Mushrooms are cleverly hidden, often requiring specific actions or keen observation to uncover. The most common method to find them is by pulling up vegetables from suspicious patches of ground. Sometimes, a Potion will be revealed, which, when thrown, creates a Sub-Space door. Entering Sub-Space can reveal a 1-Up Mushroom, especially if you throw the Potion in a specific, often less obvious, location. Other 1-Ups are found by defeating a certain number of enemies without taking damage, or by finding secret passages in walls or under waterfalls. Always explore thoroughly and experiment with Potions to maximize your life count.
