General Strategy:

All Koopalings are defeated by stomping on their heads three times. After each stomp, they retreat into their shell and spin around, similar to Boom Boom. They also have unique attacks and environmental hazards in their boss rooms.

  • Larry Koopa (World 1): Shoots magic blasts. His room has a flat floor.
  • Morton Koopa Jr. (World 2): Shoots magic blasts. His room has an uneven floor.
  • Wendy O. Koopa (World 3): Shoots magic rings that bounce around the room. Her room has a flat floor.
  • Iggy Koopa (World 4): Shoots magic blasts. His room has a moving platform that shifts left and right.
  • Roy Koopa (World 5): Shoots magic blasts and causes the ground to shake, stunning Mario. His room has a flat floor.
  • Lemmy Koopa (World 6): Rides on a bouncy ball and shoots magic blasts. His room has a flat floor.
  • Ludwig von Koopa (World 7): Shoots magic blasts and performs high, spinning jumps. His room has a flat floor.

Weaknesses:

  • Stomping: Three stomps on the head will defeat any Koopaling.
  • Fireballs/Hammers: Fire Mario's fireballs and Hammer Mario's hammers are also effective, often defeating them in fewer hits.

Strategy:

For each Koopaling, observe their magic attack patterns and the environmental hazards. Dodge their projectiles and wait for an opening to jump on their head. A Super Leaf can help you avoid attacks and land stomps from above. A Fire Flower or Hammer Suit allows for safer, ranged attacks, making these fights much easier. Be patient and learn their patterns, and you'll defeat them all.
