Toad Houses are friendly stops on the World Map where you can acquire valuable power-ups. Each Toad House offers a different type of item, and they are typically found after clearing certain stages or at specific points on the map. You can only enter each Toad House once per playthrough.

- Red Toad House: Contains a single Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, or Super Leaf. The item is usually revealed by hitting a block.
- Orange Toad House: Features a treasure chest containing a more powerful item, such as a Starman, Hammer Suit, or P-Wing.
- Green Toad House: This is a 'Match Card' game. You flip over cards to find matching pairs. Matching two identical cards (e.g., two Super Mushrooms) awards you that item. Matching three identical cards awards you a 1-Up Mushroom. If you fail to make any matches, you get nothing.
Always visit Toad Houses when you encounter them, especially the Orange and Green ones, as they can provide crucial items for upcoming challenges.
While Super Mario Bros. 3 uses Toad Houses for random item draws, Mario Kart Tour reimagines this concept through its pipe-firing mechanics for unlocking drivers and karts.
While Toad Houses provide essential inventory management in Super Mario Bros. 3, Mario Kart Wii reimagines these structures as static trackside scenery within the vibrant Mushroom Gorge circuit.
