If you're stuck or just looking for an edge, you've come to the right place!
How do I find all the Wonder Seeds in a level?
Wonder Seeds are the primary collectibles in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and finding all of them is crucial for progression and unlocking new areas. Most levels have at least two, sometimes three, Wonder Seeds:
- First Wonder Seed: This is almost always obtained by activating the Wonder Flower within a level. Once activated, the level will transform in unexpected ways, leading to a unique challenge. Complete this challenge, and the Wonder Seed will appear at the end of the Wonder Effect sequence.
- Second Wonder Seed: Often found at the very end of the level, after you've reached the Goal Pole. You'll typically receive this automatically upon touching the top of the Goal Pole, or it might be located in a visible spot just before it.
- Hidden Wonder Seeds: These are the trickiest to find! They can be hidden in various ways:
- Secret Exits: Some levels have alternate exits that lead to a different part of the world map and reward you with a special Wonder Seed. Look for suspicious pipes, hidden blocks, or areas that seem to lead off the main path. For example, in Piranha Plants on Parade in World 1, after the first Wonder Flower sequence, look for a small, unlit pipe on a high ledge to the right. Ground Pound the nearby block to reveal a hidden path to this pipe.
- Invisible Blocks: Always jump and search in unusual places, especially above gaps or near suspicious-looking platforms. An invisible block might contain a vine leading to a secret area or reveal a hidden Wonder Flower.
- Challenge Rooms: Certain levels contain hidden doors or warp pipes that lead to short, challenging bonus rooms. Successfully completing these often rewards you with a Wonder Seed. Keep an eye out for small, out-of-place structures or blocks that seem to hint at a secret.
- Character-Specific Access: While most levels are designed for any character, some secrets might be easier to access with specific character abilities, like Nabbit's invulnerability to enemies or Yoshi's flutter jump.
Where can I find the secret World 1 exit in Piranha Plants on Parade?
The secret exit in Piranha Plants on Parade is a fantastic early-game secret that unlocks a new path on the world map. Here's how to find it:
- Play through the level as normal until you activate the first Wonder Flower and experience the musical Piranha Plant parade.
- After the Wonder Effect ends, you'll return to the standard level layout. Continue moving right.
- You'll soon come across a section with several platforms and a few Piranha Plants. Look for a large, brown block on a lower platform, just before a series of rising and falling platforms.
- Ground Pound this brown block. This will cause a hidden vine to sprout from the ground, leading upwards.
- Climb the vine to reach a higher, previously inaccessible platform.
- On this platform, you'll see a small, green pipe that is usually overlooked. Enter this pipe.
- This pipe leads to a secret area with a unique Goal Pole. Reaching this Goal Pole will grant you a special Wonder Seed and unlock a new route on the world map, often leading to a challenging bonus stage or a shortcut.
What are Standees and how do I use them effectively?
Standees are a new collectible in Super Mario Bros. Wonder that offer a unique multiplayer and online interaction. They are essentially cardboard cutouts of various characters that you can place in levels. Here's what you need to know:
- Acquiring Standees: You can purchase random Standees from Poplin Shops found throughout the Flower Kingdom using Purple Flower Coins. Each Standee costs 10 Purple Flower Coins. There are many different designs to collect!
- Placing Standees: When playing online, you can place a Standee by pressing the "L" button (or the equivalent button on your controller) at almost any point in a level. This will project your chosen Standee onto the ground.
- Reviving Other Players: The primary function of Standees is to help other players. If another player (either a local co-op partner or an online player) loses a life and floats into your Standee, they will be instantly revived without losing a life from the shared pool. This is incredibly useful for challenging sections or boss fights.
- Strategic Placement:
- Before Boss Fights: Always place a Standee right before entering a boss arena. This provides a crucial safety net for your teammates.
- Challenging Jumps/Puzzles: If you notice a particularly tricky jump or a complex puzzle that might cause players to fall, place a Standee nearby.
- Hidden Areas: Placing Standees in secret areas can subtly hint to other players that there's something to discover there.
- High Traffic Areas: Placing Standees near the start of a level or in frequently visited sections ensures they'll be seen and potentially used by many players.
- Standee Limit: You can only place one Standee at a time. If you place a new one, your previous Standee will disappear.
How do I unlock new Badges and what do they do?
Badges are equippable abilities that significantly alter gameplay in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, offering unique advantages and challenges. You can only equip one Badge at a time per level.
- Unlocking Badges:
- Poplin Shops: Many Badges are purchased from Poplin Shops using Purple Flower Coins. The cost varies depending on the Badge's utility.
- Challenge Levels: Some Badges are awarded upon completing specific Badge Challenge levels. These levels are designed to test your mastery of a particular Badge's ability. For example, completing the Wall-Climb Jump Badge Challenge will unlock the Wall-Climb Jump Badge.

- Equipping Badges: You can equip a Badge from the world map before entering a level, or by pausing the game within a level and selecting the Badge menu.
