Coins are ubiquitous throughout the Mushroom Kingdom. While they don't directly grant power-ups, collecting 100 coins will instantly award Mario an extra life. Coins are found in '?' blocks, brick blocks, hidden blocks, and simply scattered throughout levels. They are also abundant in secret coin rooms. Always try to collect as many coins as possible, as they contribute significantly to your score and provide a steady source of extra lives.
