Achieving a high score in Super Mario Bros. involves more than just completing levels. Every action contributes to your score: stomping enemies, collecting coins, hitting '?' blocks, and even the remaining time on the clock. Chaining enemy stomps (e.g., bouncing off multiple Goombas or a kicked Koopa shell) yields exponentially increasing points. Using a Starman to run through many enemies is also a great way to boost your score. At the end of each level, the higher you grab the flagpole, the more points you receive. Also, any remaining time on the clock is converted into points. For true high score chasing, focus on efficient enemy clearing, coin collection, and perfect flagpole grabs.
