Donut Plains 1 introduces a new hazard: the mud puddles. Driving through mud will significantly slow you down, so avoid them at all costs. The track features a bridge that can be a bottleneck, especially on the first lap. Consider using a Mushroom to boost over the mud or to gain an advantage on the bridge. The turns here are a bit sharper than Mario Circuit 1, so practice your power slides. Watch out for the Monty Moles that pop out of the ground; they can spin you out if you hit them. A well-placed banana peel on the bridge or near a mud puddle can be devastating for your opponents. Keep an eye on the mini-map to anticipate where other racers are and where they might drop items.
