Mario Circuit 1 is the very first track and is designed to teach you the fundamentals. It's a simple oval with a few gentle turns. Focus on maintaining speed and using power slides on the longer corners. There's a small jump ramp near the end of the lap; use it to gain a slight advantage or avoid a potential banana peel. Item boxes are plentiful, so grab them whenever possible. Don't be afraid to use your items offensively, especially Red Shells, to take out opponents ahead of you. Practice drifting through the turns to shave off precious seconds. This track is also great for practicing the 'mini-turbo' boost you get from a well-executed power slide.
