Ricky is a giant bird that guards the first Golden Coin. The battle takes place on a series of platforms. Ricky will fly around, occasionally swooping down to attack or dropping eggs that hatch into smaller birds. To defeat Ricky, you need to jump on its head three times. Each time you hit it, Ricky will fly higher and become more aggressive.
Strategy:
- Phase 1: Ricky flies relatively low. Wait for it to swoop down and jump on its head.
- Phase 2: Ricky flies higher and drops more eggs. Avoid the eggs and the smaller birds. Use the platforms to get elevation for your jump.
- Phase 3: Ricky is at its most aggressive. It will swoop more frequently. Time your jumps carefully. If you have the Superball Flower, you can hit Ricky with Superballs, which also count as hits and can make the fight easier by keeping your distance. Bunny Mario's float can help you adjust your landing after a jump on Ricky's head.
After three successful stomps (or Superball hits), Ricky will be defeated, and you'll claim your first Golden Coin!
