Dragonzamasu is the boss of the Muda Kingdom, encountered at the end of World 2-3. This boss is a large, aquatic dragon that emerges from the water. This battle takes place on a series of small platforms above a water pit, adding a platforming challenge to the fight.

Phases & Attacks:
- Head Emergence: Dragonzamasu will periodically emerge from the water, opening its mouth.
- Fireball Breath: While its head is exposed, it will spit a single fireball projectile.
- Submerging: After spitting a fireball, it will submerge back into the water.
Strategy:
- Recommended Power-up: Superball Mario is highly advantageous here. Super Mario is possible but much harder.
- Attack Pattern: Dragonzamasu will repeatedly emerge, spit a fireball, and submerge. Your window to attack is when its head is exposed.
- Superball Strategy: Position yourself on one of the platforms. When Dragonzamasu emerges, quickly shoot Superballs at its head. It takes 5 hits to defeat him. The Superballs can bounce off the ceiling to hit him if your direct shot misses.
- Stomp Strategy (if no Superball): If you are Super Mario, you'll need to jump on its head. This is very risky due to the small platforms and the fireball. You'll need to time your jump perfectly as it emerges, avoiding the fireball, and landing on its head.
- Dodging: The fireball can be jumped over. The main environmental hazard is falling into the water, which results in an instant loss of life.
The key to defeating Dragonzamasu is precise timing of your attacks and careful platforming to avoid falling into the water. Maintain your Superball Mario state if possible, as it makes this fight significantly easier by allowing you to attack from a safer distance.
