Tatanga is the final boss of Super Mario Land, encountered at the end of World 4-3. He is the alien antagonist who kidnapped Princess Daisy. This battle takes place in the air, with Mario piloting the Sky Pop airplane, making it a unique aerial combat encounter.

Phases & Attacks:
- Tatanga's Ship: Tatanga flies in a large spaceship.
- Projectile Barrage: His ship will continuously fire small projectiles at Mario.
- Minion Spawns: Tatanga's ship will also periodically release smaller enemy ships that fly in formation.
Strategy:
- Recommended Power-up: You are automatically in the Sky Pop for this battle. Your 'power-up' is the ability to shoot unlimited projectiles.
- Attack Pattern: Tatanga's ship will fly around the screen, firing projectiles and spawning minions. Your goal is to shoot Tatanga's ship directly.
- Shooting Strategy: Keep firing your projectiles constantly. Tatanga's ship has a large hitbox, but you need to hit the main body. It takes 10 hits to defeat him.
- Dodging: The projectiles fired by Tatanga and his minions are the main threat. Maneuver the Sky Pop using the D-Pad (Up/Down for vertical movement, Left/Right for horizontal) to dodge incoming fire.
- Prioritize Tatanga: While you can shoot down the smaller minions for points, your primary focus should be on hitting Tatanga's ship.
- Health Management: The Sky Pop has a health bar. If it depletes, you lose a life. Avoid collisions with Tatanga's ship, his projectiles, and his minions.
Tatanga is a test of your aerial dodging and shooting skills. Keep moving, keep firing, and prioritize hitting his ship while avoiding damage. After 10 successful hits, Tatanga's ship will explode, and Princess Daisy will be rescued, completing the game!
