World 1-2 Walkthrough
World 1-2 continues your journey through the Birabuto Kingdom, introducing more complex platforming challenges and a greater variety of enemies. This stage emphasizes verticality and requires careful observation of enemy patterns and environmental hazards.
You'll start by navigating a series of platforms, some of which are moving. Pay close attention to the timing of these platforms to avoid falling. The enemies here include familiar foes like Goombas and Pico Pico-kun, but you'll also encounter the Bō, a bouncing enemy that can be tricky to time your jumps around. If you have the Super Ball Flower, it's highly advantageous for clearing these enemies from a distance.
This stage also introduces underwater sections. When you enter water, Mario's movement changes, and you'll need to swim. The primary threat in these sections is the Cheep Cheep, which swims in predictable patterns. Be mindful of your breath; you have a limited air supply, indicated by a gauge at the top of the screen. If you run out of air, you'll lose a life. Look for air bubbles to replenish your supply.
After the underwater segment, you'll return to land-based platforming. This section often features moving platforms and more challenging enemy placements. It's crucial to maintain your power-ups through this section if possible. If you're Super Mario, you can break blocks from below, which might reveal hidden coins or power-ups. However, be aware that some blocks contain enemies.
The end of World 1-2 does not feature a boss. Instead, you will reach the end of the level by navigating a series of challenging platforms and avoiding enemies. The final section often involves a series of disappearing blocks or timed jumps, so focus on precision and don't rush your movements. Collecting coins throughout the level can help you earn extra lives, which will be invaluable for the later stages.
