World 1-3 Walkthrough

Welcome to World 1-3, the final stage of the Birabuto Kingdom. This level introduces a new set of challenges, primarily focusing on aerial navigation and avoiding numerous projectiles. You'll encounter flying enemies and platforms that require careful timing to traverse. The goal here is to maintain momentum and utilize your power-ups effectively to overcome the obstacles.

As you begin, you'll face a series of platforms suspended over a bottomless pit. Keep an eye out for the Goombas that patrol these platforms. The most sificant threat in this section comes from the Pico Pico-kun, small, hopping enemies that can be difficult to time your jumps around. It's often best to try and defeat them with a well-timed jump or a projectile if you have the Super Ball Flower.

Further into the stage, you'll encounter sections with moving platforms. These require precise jumps to land on and disembark from. Pay close attention to the patterns of the platforms and the enemies that may be positioned on them. If you're in your Super Mario form, you can break blocks from below to potentially reveal hidden items, though this is less common in this particular stage.

The latter half of World 1-3 introduces more complex aerial sections with fewer solid platforms. You'll need to make longer jumps, often with enemies flying towards you. The Flyer Guys, which resemble birds, will swoop down, so be prepared to dodge or attack. If you have the Shrink Flower, it can make navigating these tight spaces much easier, as you'll be smaller and can fit through smaller gaps.

The boss of this world, King Croaker, awaits at the end. He is a large frog-like creature that hops around and spits projectiles. The most effective strategy is to jump on his head when he lands. If you are Small Mario, you will need to land three hits. If you are Super Mario, two hits will suffice. The Super Ball Flower can also be used to damage him from a distance, but it requires precise aiming.
