Understanding Power Moons

Power Moons are the primary collectibles in Super Mario Odyssey, serving as fuel for the Odyssey airship. Each kingdom has a set number of Power Moons, some of which are required to progress the story, while others are optional. Collecting enough Moons in a kingdom allows you to power up the Odyssey and travel to the next destination. Moons can be found by: completing challenges, defeating bosses, solving puzzles, exploring hidden areas, talking to NPCs, and purchasing them from Crazy Cap shops. The more you collect, the more kingdoms you unlock and the more content becomes available.
