These outfits are primarily cosmetic, but some are required to access certain areas or interact with specific NPCs (e.g., the Scientist Outfit in the Moon Kingdom, the Explorer Outfit in the Sand Kingdom). Collecting all outfits is a significant side quest for completionists. They range from classic Mario looks to entirely new designs, often themed after the kingdom they are found in.
