Upon your initial arrival in the vibrant Mushroom Kingdom, you will immediately discover that the land is in a state of turmoil, under siege by the nefarious Smithy Gang. Your primary objective upon landing is to seek out the Chancellor and warn him of the impending danger. However, before you can reach him, the castle grounds are where you'll find Princess Peach's loyal attendant, Toad, who will provide crucial exposition regarding the current crisis. It is here that you will face your very first boss encounter: the formidable Hammer Bros. These iconic Mario enemies guard the castle entrance and must be defeated to proceed. Successfully vanquishing the Hammer Bros. not only clears the path forward but also results in the rescue of Toad, who will then offer his gratitude and provide you with your first sificant reward, often including a vital item or a small sum of coins, setting the stage for the adventures to come and introducing the core gameplay mechanics of combat and exploration.
