Yellow Coins restore a small amount of health and grant an extra life for every 100 collected in a single episode. Blue Coins are special; 10 of them can be traded for a Shine Sprite at the Boathouse in Delfino Plaza. There are 240 Blue Coins hidden throughout the game, often requiring specific actions or keen observation to find.
