Episode 3: The Goopy Inferno

Welcome to Episode 3, Mario! This mission takes you deep into the heart of the Goopy Inferno, a treacherous area filled with fiery hazards and sticky situations. Your primary goal is to extinguish the massive inferno at the center of the area and collect the Shine Sprite. Be prepared for some platforming challenges and a mini-boss encounter.

Objective: Extinguish the Fiery Piranha Plant

Upon entering the Goopy Inferno, you'll immediately notice a giant, fire-breathing Piranha Plant spewing flames and goop across the central platform. This is your main target.

Initial Approach: The ground around the Piranha Plant is covered in fiery goop. Avoid touching it, as it will rapidly deplete your health. Use FLUDD's Hover Nozzle to cross the initial gaps and reach safer, un-gooped platforms.
Dealing with Goop: If you accidentally land in goop, immediately use FLUDD's Squirt Nozzle to clear a path and escape. Remember, continuous spraying can clear large areas, but watch your water tank!
Piranha Plant Attacks: The Piranha Plant has two main attacks:
- Fireball Barrage: It will spit multiple fireballs in an arc. These can be dodged by moving or by using a well-timed jump.
- Goop Spray: It will occasionally spray a large puddle of fiery goop. This is your opportunity!

Strategy: Dousing the Fiery Foe

To defeat the Fiery Piranha Plant, you need to exploit its goop-spraying attack.

Provoke the Attack: Position yourself on one of the elevated platforms surrounding the central area. The Piranha Plant will likely try to hit you with fireballs.
Wait for Goop: After a few fireball attacks, the Piranha Plant will rear back and spray a large amount of fiery goop directly in front of it.
Spray its Mouth: As soon as the goop is sprayed, quickly switch to FLUDD's Squirt Nozzle and aim directly into the Piranha Plant's open mouth. You'll need to be quick and precise. A sustained spray will cause it to recoil.
Repeat: The Piranha Plant will recover and repeat its attack pattern. Continue to provoke it, wait for the goop spray, and then douse its mouth.
Third Dousing: After successfully dousing its mouth three times, the Piranha Plant will be defeated, and the massive inferno will begin to recede.

Collecting the Shine Sprite

Once the Fiery Piranha Plant is defeated and the inferno subsides, a path will open up to the central platform where the Piranha Plant once stood. The Shine Sprite will appear there.

Path to Shine: Carefully navigate the now-clearer path to the center. While the main inferno is gone, some smaller patches of goop might remain.
Grab the Shine: Jump onto the central platform and collect the Shine Sprite to complete Episode 3: The Goopy Inferno!

Hidden Collectibles & Tips

Red Coin Challenge: Keep an eye out for 8 Red Coins scattered around the perimeter of the Goopy Inferno. Some are on small, isolated platforms, while others are hidden behind structures. Collecting all 8 will reward you with an additional Shine Sprite in a later episode.
1-Up Mushrooms: There are several 1-Up Mushrooms strategically placed on higher ledges. Use your Hover Nozzle to reach them.
Coin Clusters: Spraying certain patches of goop will reveal coin clusters. Always be on the lookout for these, as they can replenish your health.
Water Refill: If your FLUDD water tank runs low, look for the small, clear water puddles located on the outer edges of the area.
