Welcome back, seasoned plumber! This episode in Bianco Hills presents a new challenge: a murky lake teeming with pollutants. Our goal is to cleanse the waters and restore the lake to its pristine state. Be prepared for some platforming and strategic use of FLUDD!

Objective: Cleanse the Lake

Upon entering Bianco Hills, head directly towards the large, dirty lake in the center of the area. You'll notice a massive, dark Manta Ray-like creature swimming just beneath the surface, spewing out goop. This is the source of the pollution.

  1. Locate the Manta Ray: The creature, often referred to by locals as the "Goop Manta," is easily visible due to the trail of grime it leaves. It patrols the deeper sections of the lake.
  2. Engage the Goop Manta:
    • Initial Approach: Equip FLUDD's Squirt Nozzle. You'll need to spray the Manta Ray directly to stun it. It moves quickly, so anticipate its path.
    • Stun and Attack: Once stunned, the Manta Ray will briefly surface. This is your window to deal damage. Switch to FLUDD's Hover Nozzle and aim for the glowing weak point on its back.
    • Repeat the Process: The Manta Ray will recover and dive back into the murky waters. Continue to spray it with the Squirt Nozzle to stun, then follow up with the Hover Nozzle on its weak point.
  3. Watch for Goop Minions: As you battle, the Goop Manta will occasionally release smaller, goop-covered enemies. These can be easily dispatched with a quick spray from FLUDD. Prioritize them if they become a nuisance, but keep your focus on the main target.
  4. use the Environment: There are several lily pads and small floating platforms around the lake. Use these to your advantage for better aiming angles and to avoid falling into the polluted water, which will drain your health.
  5. Health Management: Keep an eye on Mario's health bar. If you take too much damage from the goop or the Manta Ray's attacks, retreat to solid ground to recover or find some nearby coins to replenish your health.

Strategy Tips:

  • Conserve Water: While FLUDD's water tank is generous, try to make your shots count. Aim carefully for the Manta Ray's weak point to maximize damage and minimize water consumption.
  • Movement is Key: The Goop Manta is agile. Continuously move around the lake's perimeter or across the lily pads to stay ahead of its attacks and find optimal spraying positions.
  • Don't Rush: This battle can be a test of patience. Take your time, learn the Manta Ray's patterns, and strike when the opportunity arises.

Reward:

Once the Goop Manta is defeated, it will dissolve, and the lake will begin to clear, revealing sparkling clean water. A Shine Sprite will appear in the center of the now-clean lake. Collect it to complete Episode 4!
